CASA PALMELA – SETÚBAL

This house in the heart of Arrábida Natural Park traces its lineage to the 17th century. For two centuries it has belonged to the same family. Since 1826, to be precise. The Duke of Palmela, a former Prime Minister of Portugal, once called it home. In 2016, the main house transformed into a boutique hotel. Now it offers 21 rooms and five houses. It joins the Small Luxury Hotels of the World network. The surrounding views sweep across vineyards and gardens to the protected wilderness beyond. The Atlantic waits nearby. Towering cliffs. Pristine beaches. Waters that shimmer turquoise. Here you can ride horses through property that seems endless. Bicycle through wine country. Walk coastal trails where history left its marks in castles and ancient villages. The Zimbral restaurant, a member of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, celebrates fresh ingredients from the estate’s own garden. Portuguese culinary tradition meets contemporary creation. The outdoor terrace faces nature on all sides. After dining, the Slow Wellness Center awaits with Ayurvedic treatments and yoga retreats. Everything moves at the rhythm of the seasons. Everything tastes of authenticity.

VINHA BOUTIQUE HOTEL – DOURO VALLEY

A 16th-century manor house reimagined for the present moment. The Douro River flows past three hectares of manicured gardens. Inside, 38 rooms reveal strikingly contemporary design. The property belongs to The Leading Hotels of the World. Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa, holder of two Michelin stars, directs the culinary vision. His Vinha Restaurante earned its first star in recent years. The journey begins on terraced grounds that mirror the famous wine slopes of this UNESCO-protected region. A private pier grants access to the hotel’s own boat. Cross the river to Ribeira, that UNESCO-recognized neighborhood where Porto’s soul resides. Back at the estate, disruptive design meets centuries-old foundations. The blend proves utterly seductive. This is where flavor, innovation, and respect for Portuguese gastronomy unite under Sá Pessoa’s exacting standards. Every detail pursues excellence. The young, highly motivated team creates lasting memories at the table. The views alone would suffice. But here you receive so much more.

MAISON ALBAR AMOURE – BRAGA

Less than an hour from Porto, the village of Moure harbors an estate that redefines luxury. The façade impresses immediately. Landscaped gardens extend toward green hills. Twenty rooms and six suites, averaging 43 square meters each, were custom designed with Art Deco inspiration. Exclusive materials. Modern furnishings. Spectacular views across lush countryside. The villa feels warmly luxurious in every corner. Within majestic salons and an immense garden, Amoure hosts prestigious events. Art exhibitions. Automobile showcases. Sunday roasts where the menu changes weekly at L’Amoure restaurant. Champagne tastings pair H.BLIN vintages with Portuguese culinary flavors. The estate embodies an art of living where luxury, refinement, and eco-responsibility harmonize beautifully. Each detail receives meticulous attention. Private celebrations. Professional gatherings. Everything made-to-measure. The Braga region reveals itself as you explore. This is tailor-made hospitality, where you understand that a hotel can be a home.
